About

From Hotel Shifts to Off-Grid Horizons

My name is George, and I’m a freelance writer, traditional archer, and outdoor enthusiast based in the rugged landscapes of Southern Greece. For years, my life has been shaped by the changing seasons—working intense shifts in the hospitality industry during the summer, and transitioning to the physical grind of the olive harvest when winter arrives. But my true life has always begun the moment I leave the asphalt behind, fire up my engine, and head into the wilderness.

The Two-Wheel Mule & The Next Chapter

Every great journey needs the right mule. For a long time, I’ve been exploring the backcountry roads of Greece on a modest 125cc motorcycle. It is a nice small machine that taught me the art of minimalism—how to pack light and embrace the slow, challenging ride.
However, when you need to carry heavy camping gear, outdoor tools, and traditional bows into remote mountain trails, you quickly reach the limits of a small 125cc engine. To take my project to the next level, I am currently preparing for a major upgrade. I am placing my order for the Honda GB350S, which will be delivered with the new year! It’s the perfect rugged platform for loaded expeditions. Until it arrives, I’ll be squeezing every bit of adventure out of my 125cc, documenting the limits and the challenges.

The Off-Grid Vision & Motivation

Scrambler Outdoors is more than just a collection of gear reviews and wilderness tactics. It is a live journal of my personal transition toward absolute self-reliance. My ultimate goal is to break free from the traditional seasonal loop, acquire a piece of land, and establish a fully off-grid homestead. My biggest inspiration and driving force in this journey is my young daughter; I want to build a life rooted in freedom, resilience, and authenticity—and show her what it truly means to live on your own terms.
